Miss Teena came to work at the Montessori School of Florence in 1999 as the Director and Upper Elementary teacher.  Although she continued to teach Upper Elementary, Miss Teena left her position as Director in 2005 to become the school’s Curriculum Coordinator.  Miss Teena briefly returned to her role as head of school in 2011 until a new director joined our Montessori family in 2013. Miss Teena has taught math, science, and cultural subjects in Upper Elementary since 1999.  Miss Teena received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master of Education in Learning Disabilities from Francis Marion University.  Miss Teena is certified by the American Montessori Society.

Miss Jackie came to work at the Montessori School of Florence in 2004.  She has been an assistant in Lower Elementary and Primary classrooms and in the Before/After School Care program.  In 2012, Miss Jackie became the Pre-Primary Classroom teacher.  Miss Jackie received her Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education from Florence-Darlington Technical College.  Miss Jackie completed her RIE training in the summer of 2012.

Miss Betty came to work at the Montessori School of Florence in 2014 as a Primary Classroom teacher. Previously, Miss Betty taught elementary education in the Darlington County Public School district for 31 years. Miss Betty received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Columbia College and a Master of Education in Elementary Education from Francis Marion University.  Miss Betty is certified in Primary education by the Palmetto Montessori Institute.

Previously, Miss Donna was a classroom assistant at McLaurin Elementary, first  in traditional kindergarten and then in an elementary Montessori classroom. Miss Meghan came to work at the Montessori School of Florence in 2013 as coordinator of our Before/After School Care program.  During the 2013-14 school year, Miss Meghan also worked as a Pre-Primary classsroom assistant. Miss Christine came to work at the Montessori School of Florence as a part-time teacher in 2010.  In 2011, Miss Christine took on the role of librarian and webmaster, and assisted in the After School Care program. In 2015, Miss Christine joined Upper Elementary as a lead teacher. Miss Christine has also taught writing and keyboarding during her time at MSF. Prior to her coming to Montessori, Miss Christine taught in private schools and Florence District One. Miss Christine received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Villanova University and is certified in middle and secondary school English. Miss Christine is certified in elementary education by the Palmetto Montessori Institute.

Miss Martina came to work at the Montessori School of Florence in 2001 as an assistant at the Lower Elementary level.  In 2007, Miss Martina began teaching German language classes to Upper Elementary students.  Miss Martina received her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education from Coker College.  Miss Martina is currently working on her Montessori certification.

Miss Heather-Lynne came to work at the Montessori School of Florence in 2001 and taught music from 2001-2004. In 2008 Miss Heather-Lynne returned to teach music and to assist in the library.  Miss Heather-Lynne received her Bachelor of Arts in Music Therapy and her Master of Science in Special Education from Ohio University and is a Nationally Board Certified Music Therapist.

Sra. Melissa came to work for the Montessori School of Florence in 2014 as a Pre-Primary Assistant. In 2015, Sra. Melissa stepped into the role of Spanish teacher.  Sra. Melissa received her bachelor of arts in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Born in the US but raised in Honduras, Central America, Sra. Melissa is fluent in Spanish. Sra. Melissa is currently working toward her Montessori certification.
